Did you know Keswick is home to the very first pencil? Pencil making is still the major industry in the town and The Pencil Museum tells the origin story of pencil making in Keswick. A journey of graphite and pencil discovery from its humble beginnings as a cottage industry to modern day production.

Rookery Woods

Rookery Woods is an adventure play area designed for the younger adventurer and is ideal for anyone aged 8 and under! With Ziplines to Slides, Mazes to Soft Archery, Rookery Woods has so much to offer!

Kong Adventures

Bring the outdoors indoors at Kong Adventure Centre in Keswick. Featuring climbing walls, tunnels, play areas, and even an ice wall, there is something here to suit almost all ages. The centre is home to a range of structures that will develop your rock-climbing skills, whether it be bouldering on low levels, or ascending the 12-metre-tall tower using ropes.

Lake District Wildlife Park

At the Lake District Wildlife Park there's wide open parkland with stunning views and chance to meet over 100 species from Anaconda to Zebra, Mandrills and Meerkats to endangered species like Gibbons and Asian Fishing Cats.

Whinlatter Wild Play

Swing, slide, splash and climb on their children’s trail through the trees with nine different play zones set in this amazing mountain forest! Try out the climbing wall and giant timber climbing frame or fly through the air on the log swing.

Puzzling Place

Visit the mind-boggling world of optical illusion. The Puzzling Place is a fun and interactive activity to experience. The ‘Anti-gravity Room’, ‘Hologram Gallery’ and ‘Ames Room’, showcasing the same effect seen in Lord of the Rings to create tall and small people, are just a few of the illusions that'll leave you rubbing your eyes in disbelief.

Mirehouse & Gardens

The beautiful, natural gardens at Mirehouse offer stunning views of the dramatic Lakeland landscape they are set in. The grounds at Mirehouse are home to adventure playgrounds which are set amidst the trees and shrubs on either side of the main drive, consisting of woodland playgrounds and a heather path maze.
